Santa’s Sleigh Solar Christmas Light with Gift & Star Cascade.

A sleigh up on a stake with a cascade of warm golden lights, gift boxes and stars pouring out beneath it. It charges itself during the day and comes on by itself once the light drops — no outdoor socket, no extension lead across the lawn, no timer to remember.

Specifications

On size: this stands 70 cm (just over 27 in) from the ground. It is a path-and-flowerbed piece, not a lawn centerpiece. Many people buy a pair and set one either side of the front walk.

What’s in the box

• Sleigh light unit with the cascade strands
• Ground stake
• Solar panel

Good to know

• Run time depends on how much sun the panel gets that day. Put the panel somewhere it catches direct light, not under an eave or a hedge.
• It needs soil or grass for the stake — it will not stand on concrete or decking on its own.
• Snow or heavy leaf fall on the panel stops it charging; brush it clear.
